The rules that govern our WhatsApp groups and community spaces — updated December 2025.
The Z8/9 photography group is part of the Nikon Z Flagship Cameras community. Its purpose is casual and immediate messaging on topics relevant to Nikon Z8/Z9 photography and videography — gear, techniques, wildlife, nature, locations, and genres.
This forum is for learning, sharing knowledge, information and experience — not just posting images. Active participation is key.
Use your complete, identifiable full name in English as your WhatsApp display name. Nicknames, aliases, abbreviations, initials-only names, emojis, brand names, camera models, slogans, or anonymous identifiers are not permitted. This is not an anonymous group. Share your social media handle(s) so members can get to know you.
This forum is exclusively for owners of a Nikon Z9 or Z8 camera body. Please respect this for the duration of your membership.
Dealers, guides, and tour operators are strictly not allowed in the group, however well reputed or well-known they are. When adding a new member, take their explicit consent first, introduce them to the group, and reset the invite link immediately after they join to prevent misuse.
New members are expected to introduce themselves with their name, location, social media handles, gear, profession, and interest in photography — failing which their access may be restricted. No promotion of business interests in the group.
Members must be at least 16 years of age. This is not a children's group and admins are not responsible for underage members.
This group is unmoderated — read and check your message before pressing send. You can inline-edit messages for 15 minutes after sending.
Strictly no expletives, offensive comments, or jokes that hurt individuals, groups, genders, or organisations. No political, religious, regional, language-based, or sensitive messages. Be mindful that accomplished members, respected seniors, ladies, and youngsters are in this group.
No forwards outside the topics of the forum. This is not a general forum. Event/session posts related to group topics are limited to one post per event — repeated posts will be removed.
Be respectful to all members. Harassing members through personal messages because they are part of this group will result in a ban if a complaint is received.
No brand bashing or criticism of Nikon as a company. Discussing genuine gear issues is fine. Help members get the best out of the equipment they own.
Do not flood the group with good morning messages, others' photos, or repeated links. If you have many photos to share, post an album link. Try to share HD images where possible.
No sharing of copyrighted material without explicit permission of the owner. No pirated content.
When sharing photos or videos, include full EXIF data and photography techniques. Behind-the-scenes (BTS) stories are welcome — they help members learn and appreciate the shot. Mention date and approximate location. Credit original authors. Seek feedback on your own images.
Critique a photo, never an individual. We have members at diverse points of their photography journey with wide variation in skill and experience. Use emojis to show appreciation when no additional insights are being shared.
Photos of any genre taken with Nikon gear are welcome — be judicious and exercise discretion in what you share, as some photos might offend other members.
Members may post about buying and selling their own photography gear. Buyers beware — thoroughly satisfy yourself of quality, condition, and price before committing. Any transactions are strictly between individual members in their own capacity and outside the purview of the forum.
This group requires members to actively participate and share. There is no minimum post count, but if you cannot contribute in any form for more than a few months, please feel free to exit — you can always rejoin. We do not want dormant members or a group where members lurk just for the sake of it.
Star (*) messages that are important to you, as group chat is ephemeral short-form communication.
All discussions, feedback, reviews, opinions, and experiences shared within this group — including those related to tour operators, guides, trips, stays, or services — are strictly confidential and intended solely for the awareness and benefit of group members.
No member shall share, forward, reproduce, quote, summarize, screenshot, or disclose any group discussions, messages, or content outside this group — in any form (verbal, written, digital, or social media) — without the explicit prior consent of:
Sharing of personal details of group members (including names, phone numbers, WhatsApp numbers, social media handles, private messages, or opinions) with any third party is strictly prohibited unless explicit permission has been obtained from the concerned member(s).
No member is authorised to communicate group feedback, reviews, or member opinions to tour operators, guides, service providers, or any commercial or non-commercial third party — directly or indirectly — without explicit approval from both the concerned member(s) and the Admin Team.
Any violation of confidentiality or privacy will be treated as a serious breach of trust and group ethics:
English is the primary and mandatory language of communication. This group includes members from different states, regions, cultures, and countries — English ensures discussions remain inclusive, accessible, transparent, and respectful to all.
If a local or regional language is used, it is mandatory to provide an English translation or summary in the same message or immediately thereafter.
Persistent use of non-English communication without translation, despite reminders, will be treated as non-compliance and may attract corrective action by the Admin Team.
To preserve harmony, inclusivity, and mutual respect among members from diverse cultural, regional, and national backgrounds, the following are mandatory:
Violation will attract immediate corrective action, including message redaction or removal from the group. The Admin Team's decision shall be final.
Stay on topic. All discussions must remain relevant to the group's core theme — photography, Nikon Z gear, wildlife, nature, and related topics. Irrelevant content, including activist appeals, will be deleted without prior notice.
Right of admission is reserved. The Admin Team reserves the right to terminate membership without explicit reason for non-compliance. The Admin Team's decision on violations, intent, and disciplinary action shall be final and binding.
As administrators of this group, we disclaim any responsibility or liability of any kind for individual posts, actions, or transactions. Our actions are limited to redactions made suo motu or in response to complaints to maintain a clean and positive discussion timeline. All posts and opinions by administrators are in their capacity as individual members and do not represent other administrators.
If you receive personal messages unrelated to this group's interest in photography, wildlife, and nature from unknown strangers — please report them to the admins. This is especially important for women and children in the group.
As a group, we seriously flag accounts seeking friendship or other such pursuits. Please help us identify such accounts.
Adherence to privacy laws is a must. Do not share member contacts with outsiders without explicit permission. Exercise extreme caution while communicating individually with strangers who are part of this group, and encourage reporting of unwanted contact to admins.
The Tours/Trips group is part of the Nikon Z Flagship Cameras community and serves as a forum to share or seek information about trips and tours. Photography discussions belong on the main group (Nikon Z8/9 Photography). The rules below apply in addition to the main community group rules.
All members of the Tours & Trips group must also comply with the Main Group Rules above. The rules on this tab are additional requirements specific to the trips/tours forum.
Members personally joining a tour or trip may post detailed information about it — sufficient for other members to decide whether to join.
Members may post seeking others to join a trip or form a group. Once interest is shown, further logistics must be taken offline — not on the group.
Members may share information about local bird walks, nature walks, photo walks, or outstation trips they are joining, leading, or organising.
Members may seek information on gear, photo tips, precautions, best practices, guides, stay, local commute, and other planning information relevant to a trip or tour.
Members are encouraged to share trip reports, trip videos, and photos upon successful completion, for future reference by the community.
Members who maintain a blog or website about their trips are welcome to share it for others' perusal.
Forwarding or posting trips and tours that the individual member is not personally part of is not entertained. Promotion or marketing of commercial operator trips/tours is strictly prohibited.
The admin team disclaims any responsibility for trips shared in this forum. It is up to individual members to decide on their own volition whether to join a trip or tour. Admins do not vouch for accuracy, authenticity, genuineness, cost aspects, guides, stay, or any other matters related to trips/tours.
Any disputes, concerns, refunds, money-related matters, or issues must be resolved at personal capacity between individual members and tour participants. Group Admins bear no responsibility or liability. If an admin participates in any trip, it is in their individual capacity.
The Admin team's decision is final on redacting message postings in the group as it deems appropriate. No correspondence is entertained regarding such decisions.
Trip-related discussions, feedback, experiences, cost details, reviews, and opinions shared in this group are confidential and intended only for internal reference by group members.
Forwarding, sharing, or disclosing any discussions or member contact details or identification of the member in any manner outside the group — including with tour operators or service providers — without explicit consent of the concerned member(s) and the Admin Team is strictly prohibited.
Any breach of confidentiality or privacy will attract immediate disciplinary action, including removal from the group. The member whose contact details were shared without consent reserves the right to take appropriate legal action against such member(s).
English is the default and mandatory language for all communications in this group, to ensure clarity and inclusivity for members from diverse regions and countries.
Any use of local or regional languages must be accompanied by an English translation or explanation. Messages without translation may be redacted by the Admin Team.
Repeated non-compliance may result in disciplinary action, including restriction or removal from the group.
